strengthening families in christ

The vision of our congregation is to strengthen families in Christ.  It's not easy living in today's world as a Christian.  Yet God has made one family in Christ to strengthen each other in community.  He also provides to each family and individual the promise of his presence and power in their lives through Christ.  Come and be strengthened.

following Jesus

At the core of our ministry is helping people grow in their relationship with the Living God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Followers of Jesus learn the ways of Jesus by exploring what God says in the Bible, and then live it in community with others.

community service

St. John serves its neighborhood and community in various ways.  We support our community's Neighborhood Watch program, provide food to the Marion Polk Food Share and support to homeless children in our neighborhood.  We support other ministries and services that help others demonstrate the love of Christ to the world. Check out our PARTNERS page on the website.

music

There are various ways to be involved in the musical arts.  Opportunities range from singing in the choir, learning and playing hand bells, singing or playing instruments, as well as various opportunities for soloists, and instrumentalists.  St John enjoys a full rank, Rogers pipe organ that supports its traditional worship services.

Volunteer Today

seniors

Seniors make up a large part of St. John's fellowship and support one another through a ministry called the O.W.L.S. (Older Wiser Lutheran Seniors).  Anyone 55 and older is welcome to be a part of this monthly gathering of support and outings.
